|
|
If you love Blood Bowl how about speedier play (5 turns per half, seven players per side) and spice (star players) on a smaller field (20 squares by 11) where you can play a full game in less than two hours!!
First meeting will be Saturday April 24th at noon. Build a team according to the rules listed below and we can even pair off for our first matches!!
If you want to play or have questions send me a personal message thru this forum.
Blood Bowl 7's (Blitz Bowl) Rules
Blitz Bowl uses all of the normal Blood Bowl rules with the following changes:
On the field...
Half Length - Each half of the game only lasts 5 turns, and Extra Time is only played for 5 turns.
Kick Off – To scatter the ball use a D10/2 rounding up to determine how many squares the ball bounces.
Turn Length - Each player is only allowed 3 minutes for each turn. A Turnover is conceded as normal if this time limit is exceeded.
Players On The Field - Each team may have a maximum of 7 Players on the field at any one time.
Wide Zones – only 1 player from each team must be set up in the Wide Zone at the Kick-Off.
Kick-Off Table - The following modifications are made to the Kick-Off Table:
Riot - Holds the game up for 1D3 turns (round up).
Blitz - Only one player from the kicking team may perform any actions during the "free" turn.
Pitch Invasion - Injures 1D3 random players (round up), instead of the normal D6.
NOTE: Casualties and KO's caused by the Kick-Off table (i.e. 'Throw a Rock' or 'Pitch Invasion') do not count towards your teams score for the match (see "Scoring", below).
Reserves - If one of your players is removed from the field (i.e. injured, pushed into the crowd, kidnapped, etc) and you have a player in the Reserves Box, you may bring this player onto the field immediately, you don't have to wait until the next Kick-Off. During your turn, you may place a reserve onto the field with the following restrictions:
• You must have less than 7 players already on the field.
• The reserve must be placed in your own Endzone (i.e. the one you are defending).
• The reserve may not be placed in a Wide Zone.
• The reserve may not be placed in a square with an opposing tackle zone on it.
• The reserve may not move or perform any actions the turn they come onto the field.
You may bring any number of reserves onto the field in one turn, as long as you don't violate the 7-player on-field limit.
Off the field...
Team Construction - Follows all the normal guidelines, with the following changes:
• You may not have more than 10 players on your Team Roster at any one time, and you must purchase at least 7 players for a starting team.
• You may not have more than 1 Star Player on your Team Roster at any one time.
• You may only have 1 Big Guy on your Team Roster at any one time. (This does not apply to Big Guy teams).
• You may only have 1 Ally on your Team Roster at any one time. Note that a Star Player or Big Guy of a different race will count as both your single Ally and Star Player/Big Guy that you are allowed.
• A Team Wizard (or equivalent) may not be purchased.
• And the question you're all asking - yes, you still get a cool 1,000,000gps to start with!
MVP Awards - After every match, award one extra MVP to your team. This is to reflect the fact that being on the field during Blitz Bowl is an intense experience that teaches a player skills and tricks that much quicker - at least for those players who manage to survive!
Tournaments and Leagues
Running a tournament or league using Blitz Bowl alone
It is very easy to run a league or tournament using just the Blitz Bowl rules. This can sometimes be the best option when your gaming group is constantly running short of time - especially when "real-life" things like jobs, studies just can't be avoided! |
