@Mike:

Probably not Sunday. I've got church in the morning, work in the afternoon, and other activities in the evening.

Best time for me next week will be Thursday (Aug. 5th) starting around 5:45. Just about every other evening is free too though (with the exception of Wednesday).

Scott,

I will be out of town until August 9th. We will have a schedule at that time.

Did we decide on if we were adding rules to this league?

I read something about no special characters, does that mean heroes, lords, or named heroes/lords? I also read something about a veto for terrain?

kinda making this more difficult than it needs to be... there is a rule book, we could just go with that...

@Ender:

There were a few rules added, mainly in an effort to help balance the game and encourage generalship in the armies.

No Named special characters are allowed (No Orion, Grimgor, Epidemius, Teclis, Gorthor, etc.) This is because named special characters are generally priced at a lower cost than their abilities deserve, and since some armies have lots of awsome special characters (Daemons, Highelves) and some armies don't (Tomb Kings, Brettonians), this is done to help balance the army composition.

The rules for generating Random Terrain in the 8th edition rulebook will be used. However, because some types of terrain are particularly nasty/difficult (Like rivers are generally really bad for cavalry) each player can veto one terrain option per game (though as I understand it the veto is more like a reroll on the terrain generator, with the first result not being allowed).

I personally think that this rule is open to some abuse (I play Wood Elves, and expect to see the First Forest rolled in each game I play vetoed), but I believe it's still useful to avoid hard feelings because some unfortunate terrain was rolled and it caused a game changing event.

Otherwise, there is another thread that Jeff put up that has the scoring system we will be using. Generally, the terrain veto and No named special characters are the only deviations from the rulebook and associated FAQs.

Hope this helps resolve some of your confusion.
